neurodiversity-affirming
Talking with Taylor proudly offers neurodiversity-affirming services, uniquely designed for meaningful progress.
-
Neurodiversity refers to the diversity of brain-based differences among the human population. There is an infinite variety of individual differences in neurocognitive functioning. Neurodivergent people include those who identify as autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, as well as many others.
-
Neurodiversity-affirming services embrace and value differences, using client-specific strengths and interests to facilitate growth.
-
Individualized and strengths-based treatment plans are created with goals that promote interoception, perspective taking, self-advocacy, and self-determination.
-
Service offerings include collaboration for skill growth across contexts as well as advocacy to facilitate inclusion, support, and accommodations to promote accessibility across contexts of daily life.
-
Consulting is available for understanding of unique sensory and executive functioning differences and inclusive modification environments (e.g., classroom set-up), tasks (e.g., homework, job responsibilities), activities (e.g., transitions, recreation, social events), and experiences.
-
Based on the social model of disability, neurodivergent people are disabled by our society, which caters to the neurotypical majority. Talking with Taylor is passionate about spreading knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of neurodiversity, in hopes of building a future in which society will no longer disable those who are wired differently.
