MEET  TAYLOR

speech-Language Pathologist & owner

As a speech-language pathologist, I love helping people develop their authentic voices. My goal is to improve my clients’ lives by helping them to become confident, effective communicators. Through highly individualized, holistic, and collaborative services, I strive to promote meaningful communicative development across contexts of daily life. My therapeutic approach and passion for speech-language pathology have been shaped by both personal and professional experiences. Through overcoming struggles with self-esteem, I learned the importance of confidence. When I believe in myself, the possibilities are limitless. With pediatric and adult clients, building confidence is invaluable for treatment success and real-life change. Additionally, my late-diagnosed ADHD has significantly impacted my career. Over the past 7 years, it has been eye opening to navigate my own ADHD while working with neurodivergent children (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia, executive functioning differences). I uniquely understand many of the struggles and appreciate the strengths of those who are “wired differently.” I empathize with the neurodivergent experience, because I am neurodivergent. I am deeply committed to providing neurodiversity-affirming speech-language therapy and advocating to promote accessibility to social, academic, and professional opportunities. Prior to launching Talking with Taylor, I served children and young adults in Miami and New York. While working in Manhattan-based schools for students with communication and learning differences, I received specialized training and supervision. My experiences included interdisciplinary collaboration, parent training, curriculum planning, facilitating peer interactions (e.g., play-based, group collaboration), and leading group learning (e.g., language arts, team building). Across settings, I developed differentiated strategies to promote learning readiness, according to variations in sensory, emotional, executive functioning, and environmental factors. All behavior is communication. Through supporting strengths and promoting access to communication, “behavioral challenges” dissipate, while self-esteem and communication flourish.

“Not only has my son’s speech greatly improved with the help that he received from Taylor, but Taylor also helped his confidence levels. Her love of helping children is apparent in her dedication and attitude.”

Pleased Parent

“Taylor brought so much expertise, creativity, enthusiasm and love to the speech therapy process. Taylor is the only speech therapist I have worked with, and now I feel spoiled - it would be hard to find anyone else as dedicated, talented and caring!"

Happy Parent

“Taylor made the sessions so fun and interactive, [my son] always looked forward to seeing her. She took time at the end of each session to give me ideas that I should practice in everyday life to maximize my son’s potential.”
